Who are we?

This website is owned by the Táilte Tours committee. This is a voluntary committee which aims to run tours and events to promote the cause of Irish railway heritage groups, if we make profits on events we will donate them to a registered charity. We take data protection very seriously.

What data does this website collect?

The Táilte Tours website collects:

• Your contact details when you order tickets from us.

• Your contact details whenever you contact us using the Contact Form or email addresses.

• Anonymous usage statistics which use browsing information to help improve your site experience. This includes information on device type, screen size, etc, to optimise the website for your browser. Our analytics also include anonymised information such as rough geographic location.

• Our Contact Form (for queries).

• When you order a ticket from us (note, we do not hold, nor have access to payment card details).

• When you visit our website, our cookies may collect data. You can opt out of this.

• Optional newsletter sign up (we will only send you such information if you consent to it).

• Other optional sign up forms on our social media pages.

 

How do we use your data?

• To contact you about the event you booked, including any updates or changes etc.

• If you have consented, we may send you newsletters and marketing emails about future events. You can opt out of these if you wish.

• We use Cookies (small text files placed on your computer by websites you use) to help make the website work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site on usage and analytics. You can decline the use of cookies.

 

How do we hold your data, and what are your rights?

• All data is securely stored in an encrypted system, to which only designated committee members have access to.

• We do not store payment or credit/debit card information, this is all processed through Wix online payments.

• You have the right to rectify any errors or changes in your data, you may contact us by email or on the contact form on this site.

• You have the right to access the data we store about you.

• You have the right to erasure - you can request that we delete your data, subject to certain conditions and legal obligations.

• You have the right to complain about misuse of your data - in Ireland you can do so at www.dataprotection.ie.
