The Wild Rose Railtour

As part of our inaugural railtour weekend, Táilte Tours have organised a special 'mini railtour' from Dublin to the Cavan & Leitrim Railway at Dromod. This will involve travel from Dublin Connolly to Dromod and return by Iarnród Éireann service train. While at Dromod, we have organised some special trips on the Cavan & Leitrim narrow gauge railways. This will include haulage by their recently restored Avonside steam locomotive "Nancy", which is in its first year of public operation. Vintage Bord na Móna diesel No.LM114 "Joe St. Ledger" will also feature. We might have a surprise or two lined up as well.

Departure from Dublin Connolly will be on the 13:00 service train to Sligo. We should be back in Dublin for 19:45.

Tickets for this event can be booked separately or in conjunction with our "Premier Rose" diesel railtour from Dublin to Kerry the preceding day. For those wishing to travel on both days, we're offering a special combo rate of €120 all in.

For those wishing to make their own way to Dromod or who have OAP travel passes valid in Ireland, we also have a ticket available covering travel on the Cavan & Leitrim Railway only.
